This morning, Hertz car rental announced that it would be acquiring Dollar Thrifty Automotive group, creating a 9,800 location rental-car giant. The Federal Trade Commission today received a petition from several auto-safety groups that asks for a ban on renting out recalled vehicles that haven’t been serviced.
