Sirius XM’s pre-owned vehicle trial membership announcement comes one month after the satellite radio company revealed that it had developed a similar partnership with AutoNation Inc. dealerships, notes Automotive News. Both programs enable pre-owned vehicle buyers with cars that are already factory-installed with a satellite radio receiver to take advantage of a Sirius XM trial subscription.
Sirius and Chrysler Group will continue to offer buyers of new vehicles the option of a trial XM subscription. According to the Sirius XM website, the satellite radio company has agreements in place with “every major automaker” on any of 800 different pieces of receiver equipment, from pre-installed to aftermarket in cars, trucks and boats. Sirius XM is also streams on select mobile OS.
Joe Verbrugge, senior vice president and general manager of Sirius XM’s automotive remarketing division, told CBS Detroit that the partnership between Sirius XM and the Chrysler Group will bring consumer first-class entertainment.
“Customers buying any satellite radio-equipped pre-owned vehicle can be assured of getting best in class audio entertainment at the touch of a button,” he said. “The list of dealers across the country making SiriusXM available to their pre-owned vehicle customers continues to grow and we are proud that Chrysler Group dealers see the value of giving their customers a subscription to SiriusXM.”
