Commercial
Nissan is a vehicle brand with a very long history. Originally founded as DAT Motorcar company, which built the Datsun, Nissan has long partnered with other vehicle makers to build well-known brands and in the process developed a strong, well-respected brand of its own.
Building a strong history
The company that would eventually become Nissan was founded in 1914. Most of the vehicles this company built were utility trucks and military trucks. By 1934, the company had been traded, re-purchased, and re-structured a few times and started expanding into airplanes and engines. By the 1930s, Nissan had won a contract with Austin and began building the British motor company's vehicles. Datsun vehicles entered the American market in 1958, and the carmaker re-branded itself as Nissan by 1984.
Maintaining strong partnerships
Since 1984, Nissan has built a strong portfolio of its own vehicles ranging from small economy cars to SUV and minivan models. Between 1993 and 2002, Nissan and Ford developed a strong relationship, and several vehicles built by the two companies were essentially the same, with only cosmetic differences. After 1999, Nissan and France's Renault developed a partnership that eventually grew to include Daimler AG.
A reputation for quality
Nissan vehicles have long been known for quality and reliability. The engineering behind Nissan vehicles has been built by improving on the best engines and designs of well-known brands. This means Nissan vehicles have the best engines, best development and best quality testing available on the market.
Looking ahead to the future
Nissan vehicles have always been popular because they are well-built and economical. Though its partnerships, Nissan is now developing hybrid and electric technologies that are already incredibly popular. These vehicles are built to be light, flexible, and entirely economical. The electric technologies developed by Nissan are some of the first that have been brought to market, ready for the general consumers.
